Last week it was really hot and the Mom's group had a trip planned to the Sprinkler Park, so we went. We had so much fun. Anna was laugh so hard at some of the other kids there. She thought they were so silly. Unfortunately it really aggravated her asthma. We had done a treatment for her in months. So I started her back on her meds, but it wasn't clearing up. WE took her to the doctor and we changed up some of her meds.
We think it really is allergy related. She had a few days of prednisone. Zyrtec is a must. She also has Advair now as well. We are going to try her on an inhaler with a spacer instead of the nebulizer. We got a nice new spacer that can conver from a child to an adult.... so nice since now Anna and I can share a spacer!
At her follow-up appointment they still didn't like how she sounded (I thought she sounded so much better, too!) They took and x-ray just to be sure. No pneumonia, but they think she may have some bronchitis so she is on antibiotics. They also added a new inhaler, flovent. So we will stop the pulmicort in the nebulizer. We have the albuterol for the nebulizer and as an inhaler, depending on what we feel she will be able to do.
If she needs the albuterol 2x in a week during the day or 2x a month at night we need to take her back in to adjust her meds.
